Hi y'all and welcome back to another of our exceedingly irregular and sadly photie-less posts. Unfortunately, you're all in for a long LONG "here's us standing in the way of another famous landmark" session when we get back. Oh and thanks to everyone for your birthday hugs and kisses.
This post comes to you from Florence, or Firenze, as the locals call it. During our time here, we've viewed endless iterations of Jesus and Mary being Annunciated, Adored and Crucified. Along the way, we've caught sight of several nude men and women in marble and bronze form. Most famed above others being big Dave, of course. Our favourite is this chubby chappie, whom we've dubbed "Mr Bobolina" - an entire day was spent searching for him in the Boboli Gardens, only to be told he was right near the exit.
Our previous stop was in Venice, trying our best to determine what constitutes street and what is canal. Not always an easy task in this town. We would love to say that we've been riding the gondolas but at a 100 euros a pop, that's way too many gone-dollars that would be better spent on the excellent wining and dining to be had here - most of which in the restaurant on the ground floor of our hotel - an easy stumble from our room upstairs.
Berlin was a blast. By day, we explored the many restored buildings and the not-at-all restored Wall. Had a bit of fun jumping to and from the old West and East sides which used to invite a swift gunshot to the head. By night, we crawled the pubs with our guide Sergio pouring liqour down our gullets in between venues. It appears that it would be illegal NOT to street-drink in this town.
Munich was beery good fun, despite missing the misnomered Oktoberfest that actually takes place in September. Our guide on the walking tour through the main points gave us a running commentary that went something like: "Beer beer beer Nazis beer beer mad king Ludwig beer beer monkey baby beer."which actually sounds far more entertaining in an Irish accent.
Tomorrow we bid this town "Arriverdeci" and head for our final stop in the European leg of our tour, Rome.
So, with our hearts and minds full of thoughts of home and our bellies full of the best Italian cuisine and wine have to offer, we bid y'all....Ciao!!

A'Dam fine time
Hello everyone. This isn't quite normal service as the laptop issues continue to plague us. At this point, we're hoping it'll hold out fuctioning as a photo processor, at the very least. Like the girl with the curl, when it's good, it's good but when it's bad it's horrid.
Which also quite accurately describes our time over the past week. Paris, as we mentioned, was a whole lotta fun. In between ticking off our list of Parisian sights, we feasted on the gallons of wine and the lashings of cheese this city is famous for. We concluded that Paris was exactly like the movies. Alas, however - four days is too short to do it all (Julie, you were right.)
Getting to Amsterdam was the horrid part, with the now infamous easyjet delay in full effect. They tell us ïf you're late, we won't wait", but when they're late, what choice do we have? Also, a local cold virus decided to lodge itself in Hotel Gemma and took its time to check out.
Anyway, we're now in Amsterdam coming towards the end of my 4-day birthday party. Yeah, nice of you guys to turn up - see if you'll get invited next year. As you may imagine, it's been quite a blur but we do have some photies to prove we were here - honest!
Next stop: Berlin.
Be right back.

Stand by..
Yes, it's been a while between drinks and some of you may be wondering if Spain has swallowed us whole.
In short, we've spent a week in the English countryside where to ask for the Internet would have us directed towards the nearest fishing supplies store.
Subsequently, we have found ourselves in Paris where our trusty laptop decided it had had enough of this travelling malarkey.
So...sadly, the usual post with its accompanying bandwidth-chewing photies will have to wait until we get the little tyke fixed.
On the other hand, a FABULOUS time is being had here in the land of wine, cheese and baguettes. We do hope to stop eating at some stage and see some stuff.
A bientot!!
