Ok so where were we?

Ah yes...3 years ago I thought it might be fun to keep blogging occasionally with wondrous tales of our fabulous adventures both home and abroad. However, with a dwindling readership that has now boiled down to just you and possibly my Mom, it seemed easier to just show and tell everything in person. Also, some bright boffins invented Facebook which rapidly became the preferred method of catching up with a whole bunch of folks.

So why return to Blogger? Isn't that a bit mid-Noughties?

For starters, Gem & I are about to embark on our biggest adventure since our European sojourn some years ago. We've waited a long time for regime change and now that it's a little less neoconnish, we're finally ready to do USA!!!! (Feel free to repeat that last word like a chant - we certainly have.)

However, rather than bore all our friends with constant wall updates, we thought we'd set up a buffer zone so that if you really give a flying fig about what we're up to, you'd be here. And if you decide to keep your airborne fruit to yourselves, then you're obviously not reading this and we can call you a stinky poopypants and you'd be none the wiser.

So, our Great American Experiment begins this coming weekend. Our six week itinerary so far includes: San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Washington, New Jersey, New York City and to break up the long haul home, Dublin. Needless to say, we've been doing the giddy bouncy bunny dance of glee (mostly on the inside so as not to piss off the others in the office).

Hopefully, Internet access has evolved in giant leaps and we'll be able to spend more time posting and less time waving our laptop around looking for a faint wi-fi signal to leech off.

So sit back and come along on the vicarious armchair version of our journey...we promise it'll be a hoot.
